Key Projects

Driven to share our love for India, we partner with creatives to design and execute nuanced journeys that can realise your dream project in India. In the past, collaborating closely with an extended network of cultural experts and local mavericks, we helped document stories and narratives in media such as film, photography, music, food and scents, exploring the sensory story of India.

The Spirit of Travel with Louis Vuitton

In the 1980s, Tushita travelled with legendary photographer Jean Larivière, across Nepal, Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. On this trip he was photographing for the Spirit of Travel, Louis Vuitton’s campaign to evoke travel for an evolved tourist. In his creative process, he spent time at places where he would create possibilities to photograph larger-than-life scenarios from everyday scenes.

As the operational partner, the Tushita team set the scene for these photographs by producing his visions on-ground. In Rajasthan, under the burning Sun, in the middle of Thar desert, he found the vision for his photograph as a line of camels walked across the desert. Collaborating closely with the locals, Tushita recreated the scene at dawn for Jean to photograph what became an iconic campaign of the 80s.

Un Jardin Après la Mousson with Hermes

Inspired by his journey in Kerala during monsoon, Jean-Claude Ellena, the chief nose at Hermes, created Un Jardin Après la Mousson, a perfume that tells the story of nature’s rebirth using ginger, cardamom, coriander, pepper and vetiver. To launch the perfume, Tushita worked with Hermes to create a magical retreat in the place that birthed it.

After a week of discussing monsoon, exchanging poetry on the gift of rain, and attending garden parties; on the night of the launch, a silent rice boat was paddled offshore carrying the small group of writers. In the middle of the backwaters, as everyone opened a vial of the perfume together, they were overcome by the indescribable emotion that is monsoon in Kerala.

kamalan

Moved by the desire to share our love and knowledge with discerning travellers, Tushita embarked on a journey to establish a cultural agency under the name kamalan. Resting on the pillar of storytelling, kamalan relayed authentic tales from every corner of the vast land.

Taking off from our philosophy of personalisation and powered by our flawless operations, kamalan operated at the intersection of craft and travel to curate be- spoke experiences for those who wished to discover travel as nourishment for the soul and senses. In the decade of its operation it worked with many illustrious names such as Adobe, The New York Times & Hasselblad.

Tushita Foundation

Tushita Foundation was created with the intention to contribute our knowledge, time and resources towards upliftment in Amber (near Jaipur). The foundation believes that there cannot be harmonious growth if too many people are left behind, in a small, connected world and focuses on access to education so as to of- fer students from underprivileged backgrounds a fair chance at succeeding.
