This extension to Bhutan from India can be added by surface, starting from Calcutta via Darjeeling and Sikkim, and then onwards to Bhutan via Phuentsholing and further ahead, combining Nepal.

6-hours drive, 190 km
After breakfast at the hotel. Leave by surface for Phuntsholing – a border town in southern Bhutan. Upon arrival at the India- Bhutan border gate in Phuentsholing , you will be met by our representative who will help you complete the Immigration formalities . Drive to your hotel. Arrive and Check-in . Overnight in Phuntsholing.
5.30-hours drive, 165 km
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan. Visit the National Memorial Chorten and the Tashichhodzong fortress. Overnight in Thimphu.
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed on a 1 hr trek to the Tango Monastery. Then visit ‘ Simply Bhutan’ , an interactive “living” museum developed for and by the youth of Bhutan through the Bhutan Youth Development Fund. Later drive towards Kuenselphodrang to visit the Buddha Dordenma Statue. Back in town , visit the National Textile Museum before returning to your hotel . Overnight in Thimphu.

After breakfast drive towards Punakha en-route stop at Dochu La Pass where on a clear day you will get awe-inspiring glimpses of the towering Himalayan peaks around. Visit Punakha Dzong built strategically at the junction of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers, Walk across the longest suspension bridge in the country over the Pho Chhu river spanning 350 m. Visit Chimi Lakhang, the temple of fertility. Overnight in Punakha.
4-hours drive, 140 km
After breakfast at the hotel drive to Paro, Visit Rinpung Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang. Visit a local farmhouse to spend time with the family followed by tea and snacks. In the evening , free time to explore the town of Paro. Overnight in Paro
After breakfast, trek up to Taktshang Goemba or the Tigers Nest. an architectural wonder. This spectacular four-hour walk uphill will be your most overwhelming experience ever (approx. 3000m height, 5 Hrs round trip). Overnight in Paro.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Paro airport to take your flight out to your next destination.
